Langer Claims Commander Crown

Langer Claims Commander Crown

Season 6 of our Commander Chaos League came to a close, and after 9 weeks of some pretty fun and intense games, we have a new champion.  Longtime League veteran Matt Langer held on to the top spot going into the final table and slammed the door shut to grab his first title!

Langer piloted the Quick Draw precon for this season, partnering up with Stella Lee, Wild Card from start to finish.  With the seasons bounty and reward system, Langer had to deal with being in the crosshairs of the rest of the league multiple times but was able to navigate the minefield all the way to a top finish.  He was also voted the league's "Best Dealmaker", highlighting his polished pod politics.

The Commander Chaos League is a unique league that plays more like limited.  Players do not bring a constructed deck, but instead start with a precon that is built up with cards drafted, won, and added throughout the season.  The league also has different gimmicks and world effects, making each game unpredictable.  Rankings change constantly and you are never truly out of potentially earning a prize in the final week.

Season 6 welcomed four new rookies to the league who definitely had to earn their stripes learning the ways of the CCL.  The league is a lot of fun, but in the words of "Hot Tub" Chris Schaub, "This league is a shark tank. I had no idea!"  The league now goes into the offseason but will be back again for another session in the fall.  Congrats to Matt and thanks to everyone who battled it out this season!
